  • CHRETIEN IS SCUM.

  • Why did the protesters pack it in so easily? I thought they were supposed to resist the Olympics, not stand down like a bunch of pussies.

  • Greatest thing to EVER happen to Vancity. Perfect execution, the VPD were seamless and should be commended for there great work!!! Way to go Vancouver!!!!!!!!!

  • And why haven't Natives profited from the land? Whats keeping you from doing so? If ya'll aren't taking the opportunity to do something with what you've been given, than thats your fault and noone else's.

  • Furthermore, I have ancestors that were in the Holocaust. Does that mean that I have the right to torch cars and demand repriations(sp?) for what happened to them? No. Just like its not okay for Palestinians to bomb Israel. Violence is never the anw=swer in these situations. In fact, the only time Id say "violence" is okay, is when you're dealing with a country like Iran and they threaten you first. Thats a country thats off its rocker

  • Deposed of their lands and wealth? If you never owned them(your ancestors did), than you can't talk about injustices. As you said, these particular injustices happened centuries ago. I'm sorry, but no amount of complaining/violence is going to give you your ancestors land back. And to blame the Canadians now for century-old injustices is like African Americans blaming the current Caucasians for slavery. Make the best of your situation and work for your efforts legally, not by blaming others.

  • um would you advocate those children beating the crap out of the people who did that to them? Where would that get us if we reacted violently every time something wrong happened? We'd all be dead. As I said before, two wrongs don't make a right. Im sorry that happened, but there are ways to fix things without violence.

  • @TheJlmccomber I seriously doubt anyone vandalizing cars and breaking windows yesterday had suffered any kind of injustice by the "white man". And even if they did, it's STILL no excuse. The idea that you can go into the streets and seek vengeance on a private citizens property or a business because "your people" had been wronged decades ago is ridiculous. Try using that defence in court and see how far it gets you. Want revenge for your people? Go burn down Catholic church.

  • Say that to the thousands of children who were raped in residential schools...see if they think that they have no right to be angry and to lash out! Do u have any real idea of what autrocities we have had to live through. Don't cry about vandalizing a car...my father was raped by a priest in a school that was to kill the indian in the child. so it wasn't just our property taht was damaged it was our future generations. i for one have no qualms about the tactics that are being used.

  • how long have white people profited nicely from this land? we are talking about centuries. i think most canadians are convieniently unaware of the truth. if canada was suddenly invaded by another country and all the current occupants were dispossed of their lands and weath and became the poorest in this country they would understand what it feels like to be an indiginous canadian.
