Impressive, 55,000 responses to the consultation. But you never mention 90% of respondants did not want it. Also motorways are very dfferent to a two stop railway between London and Birmingham. Anyone can between london and birmingham can use the motorway. A fairer comparison would be a motorway with no junctions between london and birmingham, and tell those who live between london and brum their roads will be less congested. No one would build that motorway, so why build this railway.
