A pruning session on an old Japanese Boxwood bonsai. This tree was collected from a garden in the mid 1990's and containerized over a four year period. Presented by http://www.kuromatsubonsai.com For more information, please see http://www.kuromatsubonsai.com/broadleaf-bonsai/boxwood-bonsai

  • Do you have to water bonsai in the winter, I live in the southern suburbs of chicago.

  • @TechDuckMan I typically water every third day in winter. Right now it is 85 degrees outside (I know, life is tough) and some of the trees are emerging from dormancy early, so I will be watering every other day.

  • could you do a tutorial on Azaleas bonsai because in September im hoping to bonsai one from nursery stock

  • @BonsaiExpert183 I have a small Satsuki featured in my latest video. I have another one in a one gallon pot, and I will do a repotting and shaping video with it sometime in Jan/Feb just before it emerges from dormancy.

  • Hey Charles !!

Good to see your vids again, always nice and informative.

Could you someday make a video of a little tour around your garden?

I always see such beautiful bonsai, somewhere in the corner of your vids,

would love to see them all some day in one single vid.

I guess a lot of your "fans" would like it also.

Keep them vids coming, man !!!!

  • @deasan I'll try to fit a yard tour in, but things are so busy right now I am have trouble staying ahead of the weeds! I have to provide some trees for a show this weekend, and my club show will be May 22-23 (we usually do it in June).
