This is some clips I took while up Goat hunting in the Kootenays, September 2007.
Owe thanks for this spot to a friend Randy, and Owe thanks for some point guiding from my Cuz Ian.
Ian, Mike, John, Erick and I were up in the Kootenays for 5 days. Good trip. Saw stuff every day.
Mountain Goat hunting isn't for most people I would say though...it is a lil crazy steep and dangerous quite a bit of the time! But well worth the views!

  • @bengwartney

    thanks

When are you goin for your draw and do you live near Elkford?

  • great footage. great location. I like how there's a natural kill shot censor.

    What caliber? What range?

  • @RatRippinReptileRage

Thank you very much...it is a great area with Bear, Deer, Elk and Moose to spot on your way hiking to the Mountain Goats high living slopes and peaks.

It is kule now that you mention that natural censor...great observation and kewl way of lookin at it...nice work.

I was using my Great Uncles 30-06...and I ended up getting closer than I expected because of the clouds comin in and out I closed the gap to 156 yards according to my Bushnell Rangefinder.

    Thanks.

  • how do you get it down?

  • @1988RudeBoi

I packed it out of there by myself...ended up with around a 100 pounds of sweet tasting Mountain Grass Meat...and although a very tough hike, it was more than worth it and I would do it again...and I have and will continue.

It is a special feeling to be so high in the tops of the Rocky Mountains...awesome!
