(Sacramento) Assembly Speaker Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) told reporters this morning shes saddened, frustrated and concerned about the on going budget crisis. Saddened because California families and businesses are suffering; frustrated over the Governors ever changing proposals during the budget talks and concerned the Governor apparently does not consider closing the deficit the top priority. Speaker Bass said the Governor seems more interested in a laundry list of proposed reforms, unrelated to the budget, than he is in solving the states financial crisis. The reforms are worth considering, said the Speaker, but the financial crisis must be addressed first. Speaker Bass also criticized the Governor for misleading Californians regarding the IHSS program. Heres more from the Speaker in this Assembly Access video.

  • Time to IMPEACH Karen Bass.

  • Speaker of California Assembly. She is probably a Democrat because of her talking points. I support the Governor. I hope the legislature is getting the message. You have to represent people, not special interests. Waiving teachers and disabled people in front of cameras disguises the real issue, which is that we some cuts have to be made. Dems like big government but something has to give.

  • Both sales tax and california income tax are too high. Cut your wasteful spending
