GiveIndia is India's first 'philanthropy exchange', that hopes to catalyse a giving culture in India. Founded in 2000, by Venkat Krishnan N., an IIM-A graduate, it already connects more than 50,000 Indian donors with over 150 NGOs in India, working on a wide range of causes from health, education, disability to livelihoods, environment and gender issues. Channelling over Rs15cr p.a., GiveIndia impacts over 100,000 people's lives every year, and is probably the 3rd largest fund-channelling intermediary in India.In a sector where "retail fundraising costs" ranges from 30-50% of the funds raised even among the leading players, GiveIndia operates at a 9% cost of funds raised. GiveIndia provides an unbiased, online platform for people to donate to a cause of their personal choice from among 150 accountable NGOs in the country. Each of these NGOs has been scrutinized for transparency and credibility. And what's more......GiveIndia provides a feedback report in a few months so that you know how each rupee of your contribution is making a difference in the lives of the less privileged you pledge to support—whether it is educating a child, helping a blind person see or providing a wheelchair to a disabled person. . It's incredible how much difference a small contribution can make -- for example $14 can help 250 children in India attend school for a day or for $23 you can restore someone's vision
