I actually enjoyed it. She's not stealing Janet's thunder. She's showing respect and love for her by singing her song.

Janet is a Vocalist..She has all Types of Versatile Vocals on many different types of songs...How dare you judge her Vocals..This is a Number #1 Hit for Janet and it's because of her BEAUTIFUL Singing VOICE!!..You just don't mess with a Classic!!..No need to diss Janet to try to pump this version...Bottomline:If you don't think janet can sing or is a Vocalist, you just don't know her or her music. :-)

i really love this remake. imo, technically you sang it better than janet, especially during the middle where you gave me goosebumps. :) though, i think the original is still better because janet's emotions were poured all over the song. but w/e, you did a really good job. :)

@giuseppe - again, look at my comment. I'll venture that when this song first debuted and was popular on billboard you weren't a fan or it didn't have any sort of sentimental value to you. To those that the song had meaning, there is no way that this cover - though nice - holds a candle to Janet's. If this is a song that tearrie covered off "one of janet's albums" then it's likely you'll like this one better. It all depends mate.

Actually I thought it was better than Janet. I guess if some soprano like Chanté, Shanice, Mariah or Celine did it they would easily make it better than Janet also.

Here's my problem with this remake: there is NO dynamic range whatsoever in the instruments or the voice. In the original, you hear the strings reach a higher octave and even Janet's voice get's a little higher as the song goes on. The dynamic range is flat on this and the beat is too fast, and there's NO FEELING. Also, thanks to an idiotic law called compulsory license law, singers can remake songs without permission-Prince was talking about it on Lopez Tonight.
