Resurrection Band, also known as Rez Band or REZ, is one of the most well-known and respected Christian rock bands in the history of Contemporary Christian music. They were based out of the Jesus People USA Christian community in Chicago, Illinois, and most of its members continue to be part of that community to this day.
Led by the husband-and-wife team of Glenn and Wendi Kaiser, the band has been the preeminent example of how to evangelize using Christian rock, but the quality musicianship of Resurrection Band has also been a driving force in the development of the Christian music industry at large. Glenn Kaiser also has an established solo career as a blues musician and is also a well-known speaker on various spiritual issues to youth and adults.

LYRICS TO: Surprised
I done my time
I took my ride
Stritted my stuff, did it my way
Hid myself from the light of day
Pushed, shoved, tripped an' fell
But dead men got no tales to tell
Everything I've come to know
Points me to my need for you
I've known the pain
I felt the shame
Voices talkin' soft an' loud
Too far down to be so proud
Some said somethin' 'bout ears to hear
Faith in truth becomin' clear
I been surprised
Opened my eyes
Sky came down in tears of rain
Sun came up a whole new way
God knows what an' when an' why
Think I wasn't born to die
Everything I've come to know
Points me to the fact of You
I don't know all that i need
But I think I finally see
Been so surprised
Here I'm alive
So, so surprised
I am alive

  • MSSTUDIIOWV - Thank you & God bless you for posting this video. I read where someone said "Shadows" was one of their personal fav songs. Would you happen to have that for upload? :)

  • Thanx for the comment! I have it someplace, let me look for it! I will post it up if I find it! God Bless!

  • Produced by Ty Tabor, I think he played some guitar on it as well. REZ was killer live.

  • I Have Been Blessed To Have Seen Them Live Twice! They Really Do Know How To Put On A Great Live Show! They Are Real People, Not Some Group That Played And Packed Up After Shows! They Stayed For Hours After Concerts, Talking & Praying With People! God Sure Sent Rocking Angels In The Heart Of North Malden Chicago! The Band Loves People, Intertwine And Interact & Live In The Community With People! Got To Love Them For That! I Will Miss New Albums From Rez For Sure!

  • I'd love to see more uploaded from the Innocent Blood Album, more specifically the song "Altar Of Pain" one of my faves.

  • i have this video package. its real cool!!

  • niiiice

  • more than a great "christian" band, a great band and a pioneer in music history, period! i saw them twice, and will always have a great deal of respect for them!

  • I had the privilege to see the band perform this album in its entirety at the Cornerstone Festival in the nineties. It was one of the best concerts I'd ever seen, and I've seen quite a few. The album remains one of my favorites.

  • I love this band and music :) god bless you

  • in the eighties i saw them twice keep it up

  • I think this looks like Dan Schaffner Singing this back in the days.

  • It's from one of their best albums - 'Lament'. It's a concept album about one person's spiritual journey. Get your hands on it if you can - you'll understand the song better in the context of the entire album.

  • Just prayed for you and for you to be saved.
