  • Never heard "Chappaquiddick" before, either! I can't tell if these are originals or covers, ha ha

  • I guess this one is also an original.

  • This is unbelievable really. Are there any known earlier recordings than this?

  • From my research online, this is the earliest known recording of REM...just a few days later they recorded the Wuxtry demos, which I'll add later.

  • @WickedWings07 That's because back in those days, they often covered "Does Your Mother Know" by ABBA. Great song.

  • God, I guess I heard these songs live so often back in the day that they're imprinted on my brain. I don't "remember" All the Right Friends, but the second it started playing I was back on the floor, pogo'ing like a fool.

  • sounds like The Jam

  • I'm loving these early recordings. Thank you so much for posting them. Happy 30th birthday, R.E.M. !

  • Very well!!!

  • amazing!! thank you! this sooo ModernWorld by the Jam!! unique! thanks once again..

  • Mystery To Me sounds like The Jam! All Mod Cons. Amazing.
