A dear friend emailed me this touching story, and I wanted to share it with you:
RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

On Sunday, 11/21/2010 at 12:50 PM, my very precious dog, friend and companion of 14 years died. She went into a coma the day before. However, she was able to raise her head, from her coma, when I came home from work that night just to take one final look at me. She was waiting for me just like she always did... Fortunately, I was there for her when she died on 11/21/2010. She was always there for me when I needed support. I was sitting next to her as she gasped her final breath. She got ill about one month earlier, and I took care of her night and day. I physically carried her up and down the stairs, because I was afraid she would tumble down the stairs accidentally. During her last couple of days she was too weak to even stand. Then, on Saturday, the day before she died, she wouldn't even get up, and she refused even water a couple days before she died. I cried every day for a month after she died. And I still get tears in my eyes whenever I think about her. I made the coffin (casket) myself, for Murron, which you'll see at the end in this video. BTW, I got the name "Murron" from the movie Brave Heart. R.I.P. my precious Murron...
So sorry you lost you dog Murron. Our animal friends have a way of touching our hearts like no one can. She looked like a beautiful dog and I'm sure she will be in your heart until you cross that bridge to meet her again.... :-)
Peace to you
