This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa . Amazingly, 97% of the machine's components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft Iowa , yes farm equipment.
It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can see it was WELL worth the effort.
It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian.
It looks really Kewl but maybe CG and the info a fake. Still -really nice clip

my dad sent this to me as an attachment with the whole BS story. i immediately recognized it as part of the CG series and corrected him... the problem is he and his friends bought it hook line and sinker. THESE ARE OLD PEOPLE THAT VOTE WHO WATCH AND BELIEVE FOX NEWS!!!! ...now i totally understand.
It's part of a show called Animusic. Created by computers not farm machinery. This was also used by ATI to show off their Video Cards. A few years ago this was part of the Animusic show they featured on PBS during one of their begging for money months.According to Internet Movie Database it came out in 2001. So Hamlee113 must have been born 1988 then. Since he or she said they were 13yrs old when the video came out.
Of course it isn't real, that's the beauty. What is amazing about this is that the software that generates these graphics is more than a movie rendering. The ' graphic instruments' you see are actually played by musicians and they correspond exactly to what they play on their real instrument via MIDI (musical instrument digital interface). So it will play differently according to what they play. The creators also wrote the music... truly genius achievement. Get the videos!

This video is part of a DVD. In a way, you're stealing this video and giving credit to the University of Iowa. Should we flag? :P
And besides, the "Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School
of Engineering" don't even exist ;]
not even the full video! :(
