Fear of God - Red to Grey

Fear of God was founded in the early nineties out of the ashes of Détente. Their songs couple heavy-metal riffing with intensely emotional lyrics. The band was fronted by amazing vocalist Dawn Crosby until her untimely death in 1996.

Are you people mad!?!? Sorry she died and all that, but that doesn't make her a singer when she wasn't !!! She could NOT sing, end of! I'd stand up in any courtroom and prove it! Any girl off the street cold shout like that! I mean, do you KNOW what a voice can do? (Check out Ann Wilson!) I bought this LP decades ago and binned it an hour later, purely because of the vocals (even though the music was good). I'm sure she was a lovely person, but she had NO vocal talent!

So I'm gonna react the same way you do, I listened to Ann Wilson and she's NOT metal at all!! It's a totaly different styl, so you can't compare those 2 voices with each other! Next time you want to compare, compare with a voice that's worth it!

Dear Lemmy, thanks a lot for posting this, this one means a lot to me. I was actually there that memorable night (in fact, I recognise my own voice saying 'more of this' right at the beginning of the clip)! I even came close to joining the band to the hotel afterwards, but chickened out at the time.. how stupid. She had just kicked out her band, these guys on that tour were from Souls At Zero, they had very little time to rehearse the songs but did a great job! Alcatraz was a great place...

Crosby was one of the best . Fear of god and MYTHIC  was the only bands at the time to have all girls or at least girl singer .

Dawn WAS "IT" when she was around!!! There were NO OTHER women out there, putting it out like she did!!! I've been more than around, have seen them all, and Dawn floored even the most intense musicians out there. I was around her in these days, and she did have ALL of the other big names seeking her out (in respect). All that worked with her at Warner had her and F.O.G. pegged TO GO BIG!!!! (and that DOES MEAN "PACKING ARENAS!!!!") So ANYONE who says ANY different, CAN KISS MY ASS!!!!!!

@kingscummy I agree there. Otep compared to this, Dawn just punched her in the face from the grave. I hear this one then I hear blood pigs, I give Blood Pigs the finger. I used to own this album on tape, but trying to find the damn thing is a bastard. I might ask Waters to burn me a CD-R of this album just so I can review it. It's because it's that rare.
