Here is a review clip of all the highlights from the 1997 Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The fourth race was being hyped as one that would probably produce a first repeat winner of the event, what with Jeff Gordon and Dale Jarrett having great seasons up to that point.
Finding this race on tape was awesome - I was at a friend's cottage at the time and missed the race, but when I asked a family friend (not a race fan) if they had seen anything about who won one of the biggest races of the year, he said "some guy named Dunn".... on the 3-hour drive home, I rifled through the NASCAR press book to see who the hell he could have meant. I had no clue until I saw the headlines that night. :)
Ricky Rudd, still my favorite driver. NASCAR just isn't as fun without him.

@skankuser I remember the announcers then saying "he just said 'they now who's got the baddest cat in the alley'". You could clearly hear him say "baddest ass".

"We might have to stop for gas, but they know who's got the baddest ass car here today."
Yeah, but you didn't win the race Parrott.
