No, the United States only contains about 3% of the worlds oil, the majority of our oil is shipped in from the middle east. What our senator is misleading everyone on is the refining of oil. The high prices of gasoline in the US is not because of the price of oil per barrel, its the refining of it and they are controlling the demand through this process. Back in the 1980's oil companies started shutting down several refineries.

One of them being here in Oklahoma that distributed all over the USA if, they wanted to bring the piece of gasoline down they could but these bastards are plain greedy.
Now they have priced themselves out of the market and the environment is failing now they are scrambling to justify the use of fossil fuel. The true interest that Senator Inhofe has would be the several oil wells he owns, that the USA will be abandoning and will leave him holding black mush not black gold.
