Once you find your local GED® prep classes, you'll need to register. The process varies from place to place, but when you go, you'll probably be asked to take a placement test. Don't worry! This test is strictly to find out which classes are right for you. Everyone takes it and it's nothing to stress out about. When it's done, you'll be one step closer to earning your GED diploma.

I want to study for the placement test. I don't like getting grades below 85%. It's something imbedded in me by my family. I was transferred to a paternity school in the beginning of 12th grade and still got my diploma (1979), but I feel like somehow I missed out. I was placed in a ninth grade class. I don't know anything above basic Math, English, Science, History etc... a lot of that I don't remember. I want to go to college and become a Social Worker.

This is a good program for anyone who didn't finish high school and wishes to get back into education. The GED exam and getting ready for college level courses is a worthy goal. I applaud anyone who sets this goal and reaches for what is possible.
My recommendation: Don't listen to those who find reasons why you cannot or should not. Go for it. You only live once.

They're not going to put you in an advanced class if you're getting a GED.
