  • @pukka5 No, they aren't. Try to research a little. That is why the "My Hashi" movement is so big in Japan and is catching on in the US and elsewhere. Most disposable chopsticks are made in China where approximately 100 acres of forest a day are used. It would be nice if they could be made of recycled wood but that was deemed unsanitary. They can be recycled in many ways, including making a book shelf out of them but so few people do so.

  • @cuizable That would be very awesome. Actually most of my chopsticks are made from recycled plastic. I will look into that pressed bamboo. Thank you for telling me about it

  • @RayneyNight I saw kitchen utensils such as bowls, spatulas made out of by-product bamboo powder in a kitchen store today. That would be cool to see chopsticks made of that.
