@TheMKEWERBY This is the first time I have seen this!! Glad to see I finally got to view his first....I started watching NASCAR around 1984....BTW I have to say it....dammit Dale....head up while you are being interviewed in victory lane.......sorry. That has always bothered me about him....how humble / modest he was...

Did NBC Sportsworld televise this race back then? I'm only asking B/C they did the following year's race. Was this the only Winston Cup race that NBC Sportsworld did back then? Can anybody confirm that?

AMEN! It's hard to believe it's coming up on ten years... I said that night that NASCAR would never be the same, and it hasn't been.

@TheMKEWERBY back in the day they didnt throw a caution for every spin, only if there was a danger to the driver who spun or the other drivers

Those announcers were so dumb....Darrell Waltrip unlapped himself from the second place car and is now becoming a factor?? What an idiot.
We sure miss you Big E!!!

I love watching the old racing. Not this watered down crap we see now. I call it NAPCAR now

Dale's first win in front of his homestate fans. Damn, I can't figure out, 1, why there wasn't a caution for Kyle's spin. And, 2 how Buddy was able to keep from spinning and still finish third! You know, he has always loved going fast. This also proves that he knew how to stay cool doing it. And YES he WAS in a Buick instead of an Olds. Thanks for proving that for me.

Great race!! Thanks for posting this.
That ol' leadfoot Buddy Baker was sure fun to watch. I love old school NASCAR when sliding in the grass didn't mean an automatic yellow.
Thanks for posting

It still hurts to think about Dale being gone. What a great man he was.
