From time to time over the last four years I have had trouble with knee pain. Particularly when standing for long periods of time. Prior to my diagnosis I had an MRI on my knee which showed some osteoarthritis which, at the time, was put down to overusage of the knee joint (good one - how overused can your knee be at 30?) Anyway, since my diagnosis I realise the knee pain is due to a shortening of the outer quadricep which pulls on my knees along with a corresponding weakness in the inner thigh. This is the treatment I have been using for the last 18 months and I have had some good results. Eventhough it is a recurring problem I try and keep up with this strapping and a few basic exercises to try and save my knees for the grinding and any more wearing of the cartiledge. This is not to replace advice from a physiotherapist but rather if you have this problem you can mention my experience and see if the same may be applied to you.

By the way it is now 4 days since I recorded my last video so if you are wondering about my ON then I can tell you it is basically the same blurriness. Yet internally I am feeling pretty good :)

  • does that realy works..? Today I went to the hospital for making a X-ray and they found noting. An orthopeet (I don't know how to call it in the English) said that I have Patellofemoral pain syndrom. I have like 3 years trouble with my knee (and I'm 13). The orthopeet said that I could have trouble with my knee till my 30th :O I'm going to try that taping thing... Btw, I have more injuries on my knee 4 in total :(

I have 10 injuries in total all over my body :( Srry for my bad English...

  • @MyMelzzz Well in my case a lot of the pain was because my knee cap was out of place so the joint was grinding. With the taping it is in normal position and the muscles could work a bit more as they should. It really depends on what the underlying problem is I think. I am no expert - this is what worked for me. Kerri

  • nice legs Kerri:) Very good video.

    Christine

  • Haha, why thank you ;-)

  • Toby's a sly dog huh? Getting you to show him your legs for 'scientific' purposes! But that's really cool that they've identified that. I had similar things going on too, might ask em about taping... Anyway a quick brag- I walked up 2 steps today!!!!!!! Amanda.

  • Hey Amanda! Haha nup (it was my idea) - I just wanted to share this little nugget as after about 3 years of knee pain my physio did this treatment and I have found it to be really beneficial. After chatting with Toby I thought perhaps others could benefit also. Well done on the 2 steps - next you'll be taking the whole flight of stairs!! Love Kerri
