This is the Etude op.2 no.1 by Alexander Scriabin (1872-1915), taken from "Three Pieces op.2" (1887).

Tempo marking: Andante (1/4 note = 50-56)

  • Three general comments:

    1. Too mechanical. I noticed a bit of rubato, but I think you've got to use a bit more. Scriabin's early works are reflective of Chopin's style, and many of his works use even more rubato.

    2. The inside voices are too loud

    3. Dynamics would be good.

One other thing - maybe I'm wrong about all three of the above, and your camera is to blame for playing tricks on me. Try putting some distance between the piano and the camera.

  • Rubato...I believe my adjudicator wrote something about that too...

haha I think you're right! The sounds practically all get picked up at the same volume...small room, bad camera...blahh =[

  • This is such a beautiful song...=D You did a great job playing it:)

  • I agree ^^

    And thank you =)

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • Thank you ^^

  • I agree with Robotman - your phrasing is non-existent but obviously you have the notes under your fingers so you can fix that. This piece is ethereal and breathes in its phrasing. Keep up the good work and it will become beautiful!

  • Hmm...I think somewhere around half a year...but I was doing it along with a bunch of other songs and this wasn't exactly my priority, so...

    And thanks! ^^

  • Im just curious...How long did it take to learn this piece? btw Gr8 performance! =)

  • haha XD

    Thanks! ^^
