What you fail to mention is that 2/3 of the publicly traded companies pay NO TAX AT ALL!!!!
Yes that's right they pay no tax! I'm sick and tired of hearing how hard corporations have it. You completely ignore all the right offs and the fact that corporations can LEGALLY shift reportable profits overseas to pay less or nothing and shift losses back to the US to recv. money back from the US Government!!! Gimme a break!

I pay enough tax each month out of my paycheck to pay my house payment, health insurance and student loan. To me, that means housing, healthcare, and education are affordable. What is not affordable are taxes.

Thats my choice and the choice of every citizen in the country. I don't know why people think that if the government demands it we have to fork it over to them. The last time I checked we live in a democracy where people get to decide what their government does and that includes how much to tax them so its the people's choice no matter what.
