  • Wow thats a really nice little k27 ive always wanted to see a nice 5in scale version. did you design and build it yourself or was it a kit?

  • @MrMyboyblue89 The "little" K27 is 5/12th scale, 15" gauge. It is a one up built to the original D&RGW blueprints at ULCO (Uhrich Locomotive) in Strasburg, CO. You can find out more about ULCO and the CC&E by watching the various videos in my "Very Narrow Gauge" playlist.

  • @ryanlim2002 The track is 15" gauge built with old mine rail. Sorry I don't know what weight rail.

  • @gothpapa I see. The tracks used are the same as the standard gauge track right?

  • @ryanlim2002 Yes, I have a pretty good idea how hard it is. As we say here in The States, "You don't have to be crazy to do something like this, but it helps."

  • @gothpapa Ahh.. Alright. I'm trying to submit a proposal to my local Governemnt about revival of a recently closed branch line.... In fact.. The ONLY branch line in Singapore....Make that the only proper non electrified meter gauge line in Singapore that was only recenty connected with the rest of the line in Malaysia. Since they probably don't have funds for standard gauge, was thinking of getting it done in narrow gauge or minimum gauge. Any idea how hard it is to set up this kinda railway?

  • @ryanlim2002 This is a 15' gauge 5/12ths scale "backyard railroad located just east of Strasburg, CO. I have posted several videos that tell the whole story. You can find them in my "Very Narrow Gauge" playlist.

  • Pardon, what railway is this and what gauge is it operating on?

  • @844jim Yes it did, and in the mid1970's it was at Old Tucson, AZ. The #1 originally ran on a loop at idaho Springs, CO in the early 1950's (although if you ever saw pictures of it you wouldn't know it was the same engine) and at Tiy Town, CO in the early 1990's. The UP diesel is now somewhere in Pennsylvania, I believe.

  • For a year or two, this 463 replica ran on the Rio Golden railroad at Heritage Square near Golden, Colorado
