1-Its not always kaiden, and who gives a fuck? IT makes sense considering there personality and there gonna be in 3
2-Then don't fucking talk to him or put him in your party, thats fucking simple
3-Jack is one of the most useful party members in the game and can pull more dps then Samara. So if you died with her in your party then you must really suck.

Really?
I've played through the game four times and never noticed it.

Question (and please excuse me if this has already been answered); at the end of the game, can you still go around and do side missions, or is it like ME1 where you would have to keep a save before the last mission in order to go back for game completion purposes?
Or must you simply begin a new game with the existing profile?
TIA

I believe it is the same as Mass Effect 1 to be honest. The game is very storyline-driven, so it would be kinda hard to go to the Citadel and such after the events; just a lot of unnecessary work for the devs.

I didn't play the first Mass Effect, but will I still be able to understand the story and enjoy this game?

Mass Effect 2 can be played independently.
However, if you play Mass Effect 1 first, you can better enjoy the storyline, the characters, as well as create the character/events in the galaxy around you, to your liking.
