physical anthropology is in no way a liberal arts. at many schools, physical anthropology majors are required to take biology, chemistry, and multiple genetics courses. has great connections to public health.

So science is not part of the liberal arts? At Lawrence University it sure is. It contributes to an understanding of the world and of ourselves. And, yes, at Lawrence our bio anth majors to take a lot of biology and chemistry, but that makes them no less anthropologists and liberally educated people; indeed, I think it makes them moreso.
