  • Absolutely beautiful work, though I do not have a DX11 card to try it :\ 200^3 grid is really amazing. How can you pull of second order at interactive rates for this size? Is this based on stable fluids?

  • Most of the ideas I got from GPU Gems 2 and 3 fluid simulation articles which are based on Stam's stable fluids methods. DirectCompute makes it just a whole lot more natural to do this kind of calculations.

  • It's a DX11 real-time GPU demo, so not integrated in a modeler.

  • no buyancy ?

  • @canviskiller Yeah, google beat you to it, found out yesterday. That sucks though, gotta wait not only for the 300 series cards, but for when I can afford them : (

  • @2minds2many no nvdia card out right now is directx 11 they are all directx 10 cards which is why you cant use this :(.

  • Ok, I looked on google and it seems that even though DirectX 11 is installed it doesn't run unless you have an ATI Radeon 5870 or something like that. The DirectX 11 uses hardware and software so even though I have DirectX 11 installed I can only use the DX10 mode and something made specificly for DX11 won't run. I'll have to wait for the Next series of Nvidia cars, 300 series I believe will use DX11. That's sucks though, I was excited when I saw this, I thought I could run this kind of stuff.

  • @canviskiller Maybe, but I have DX11 installed, I still have no idea why it won't run because all of the Nvidia Demos included Liquid Simulations work but none of the Downloads on that page in this info for the video will work. They all do that same thing, open for a split second then close without an error message. I ran some cuda testing programs to see if there are any conflicts and everything is as it should be.

  • @2minds2many i think this is directx 11 only.

    i think.

  • I'm running windows 7 x64 as well, but the app won'y start! It just shows a windows with a white screen for about half a second and then closes. Am I doing something wrong here? DX11 installed, Nvidia GTX 260 GPU, i7 920 CPU, 9gb ram, why won't it start? I tried both version and I get the same thing : (

  • on win7 x64 i get a random slow down at exactly every 10 seconds.

    :(.

  • I just got this demo looking for stuff to test out my new Radeon 5850. I wish I had got it before I swapped out my 8800GT to compare. I'm impressed by this.
