  • omg, i cannot believe she thought she was ugly compared to Constance Talmadge, she was pretty, but Louise brooks is simply stunning. One of the most beautiful women ever to be filmed.

  • These are wonderful--thank you for posting. I look forward to the fourth installment!

  • @markjpope She probably did have abortions, but never talked about them. I guess that was a subject that was off-limits, which seems strange, since Brooks always freely admitted that she was quite promiscuous. She also didn't like anyone to ask questions about or comment on her alcoholism. Her poor brother Theo made the mistake of saying something about her "falling off the wagon" and she got so irrationally pissed off that she cut him out of her life and never wrote him again.

  • @jun7per Yes, she was very self-absorbed. She was like a child, really; all she cared about was having a good time. Supposedly all her problems, according to her, stemmed from being molested as a child by a man she called "Mr. Flowers" or "Mr. Feathers."

  • Thanks for sharing this. :)

  • It was a unique time and place! And her history was unique. Please respect her individuality, artistry, humanity and struggle.

  • She is such a natural. I can see why people are fasinated with her.

  • Isabella Rossellini definitely tried to look like her!!!

  • Yep, shame about the main male casts to start off with. 'I'm the boss so I'm the male lead.' Casting couch etc. a bit sickening to see 50yr old fat boys kissing a teenager. yuk. LULU. XX

  • In how many movies did Louise Brooks FAINT, or pass out, only to be carried off to a couch or bed, where she is made love to by some lecherous man? It seems to me that happened at least half a dozen times, maybe more.

  • The reason so many people are mesmerized by her is simple. If you've ever watched a good amount of silent films and then watched Pandora's Box, it will stun you how much she stands out from every other actor or actress. She was the first true natural actor and you can't take your eye off her. She also seems to be playing herself onscreen. She has the same allure to the viewer as does on the men (and women) in her movies.

  • @spursbackpacker Oh my God i looked up a picture of Constance talmadge and she was Homely ---- Louise was simply Perfection.
