Galloping Gertie was designed by Clark Eldridge and altered by Leon Moisseiff. The dramatic wind-induced structural collapse in 1940 was caught on film. The collapse was caused by resonance of the constant wind force on the side of the bridge.
if i was like 47 feet away from that when it happened i would have that creepy scared weirded out look on my face and i would say "it's still gallopin' "
