I believe you are misunderstanding him, much like the people who made this video. He should not have used ants as an example. A better example would be to say that the financial crisis is like the BP oil spill, and the reform is like useing a nuke to stop it. He was not trivializing the problem; he was trying to show that the solution is overkill. Now would you say that I think the oil spill is trivial from my example? I hope this clears things up for you.
