Well, a remake has been made, for windows/mac, know as Planet Mule, which has a retro grapic feel, and keeps the original gameplay.

They ought to make a Wiiware version, with modern graphics and music, but keeping the gameplay exactly the same.

I've played all the clones and console versions. The Atari 800 version is the best by far. P.M. Tried to reinvent the wheel and messed up on the gameplay. It still has time to get it right but so far even with 64 computers no one has managed to capture the original in gameplay or even the computer AI. Sad.

Project M.U.L.E. is a good "remake" of this game :)

i bought dreamcast to play it with four humans. :) it's a lot cheaper and much more flexible solution than original atari800 (altough my freaky friend has it as well as original floppy from ebay). such multiplayer game is non comparable to any game experience (except of course doubles in virtua tennis 2 :)

I always thought MULE would translate great "as is" to xbox live... with a little graphical touchup (a puff of smoke when you outfit a mule!). Exciting news!
