17 May is the International Day Against Homophobia

Ilga's spot against homophobia.
Today around 80 countries in the world still criminalize homosexuality and condemn consensual same sex acts with imprisonment, of these 9 (Afghanistan, Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Yemen) still have the death penalty. Discrimination on the ground of sexual orientation and gender identity is still not recognized formally by the member states of the United Nations (even though human rights mechanisms such as the Human Rights Committee have repeatedly condemned discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity).

Do you think it's a worse horror than the horror a mother experiences when she's told that her son/daughter is killed, murdered in cold blood, just because they were the wonderful person they were? I don't really think so. And I'm not saying that everyone HAS to LOVE gays, dislike them as much as you want, but RESPECT them. Don't let them suffer because of what you think of them, that's just unfair. I just think killing people for being who they are is wrong, what's so bad about that?

Charlie Sheen can make a "porn family," Kelsey Grammar can end a 15 year marriage over the phone, Larry King can be on divorce number nine, Britney Spears had a 55 hour marriage, and Jesse James and Tiger Woods, while married, were having sex with EVERYONE. Yet, the idea of same-sex marriage is going to destroy the institution of marriage? Really?

@rayrayisgod Beacause people want to be gay doesnt mean that they have the rights to behave like this in public, they have to respect normal people, and dont confuse and frustrate kids and younger people. Instead try to search for professional help, I know people who were gay but they cured, you can feel normal but homosexuality is a mental problem as another one. Good luck

I think all who are phobes should stop and take a look at not only those who are gay and attacked but also their beloved straights getting attacked and murdered because of mistaken identity,The idiots who attack think straights are backing them right now.
