The term "race" is a contentious issue, often leading to comments involving racism. Has society fallen so far over the edge of the cliff that PC culture is dominant, or can we find a middle ground which does not involve leftist shaming?
My Blog Post "Scientific Realism (Response to Professor Anton)":
Many of Nietzsche's ideas have since been supported by history & Social Science. For example, that 10% of any given group of people (of any kind, large or small) are 'Alfas' - leaders, more creative, more dominant, more aware etc. This co-incides with the finding that in any community (any size or type) once 10% know a thing, suddenly everyone knows it.
I have watched the video you recommended; it is very interesting & clearly demonstrates that any connection between Nietzsche & Nazis is a bogus construct of the Nazis themselves & by the Cultural Marxists - each to serve their own purposes.
Nietzsche cannot be held responsible for what is made of his ideas by other people & self-serving ideologues long after he published them. He can only be judged on his own merits.
What I want to be achieved is the betterment of mankind - in which Eugenics, along with all other Sciences & branches of Science, Education etc., has a vital part to play.
If we are too timid to accept the challenges of bettering ourselves, the only alternative that nature offers us is degeneration leading to extinction - the fate & of the weak, timid & unable to adapt.
It isnt as simple: dealing with disease through eugenics involves changing & improving the genome thereby enhancing human strength & ability - what is wrong with that? Only CM deconstructionists can & do object.
Any branch of Science can be, is & will be misused from time to time & place to place - that is inevitable.
@RockingMrE (cont) Oh, and CMs love Nietzsche, especially Postmodernists. This is because he believed in human experience making life subjective, a favourite of this group of hypocrites. Also, he appealed to the Nazis because he talked about suppressing logic and reason for an inner will - his "will to power." Nietzsche felt that this was more potent than more conventional knowledge, like science.
@freeman8128 Most of what you are saying is true. But too many times do I hear that Nietzsche used metaphors, and this is often to defend him. Nietzsche was an elitist. He would have done anything to create his Ubermensche, and ths is very clear in his work. If you watch the video I linked to you will see that it is undeniable that Nietzsche would have done anything to raise humanity to his vision of the superman.
@freeman8128 There are risks with science yes. But eugenics should be restricted to dealing with disease and illness. It should not be used to enhance human ability. That is an extremely dangerous road that will almost certainly lead to some sort of attempt to create a supersoldier or superrace. We have to draw the line somewhere. The CMs just truth in a disgustingly divisive manner. This is not what I advocate by any means. The real question is what do you want to achieve with eugenics?
@RockingMrE ANY & EVERY field of Science can be & is easily exploited by ideologues, dictators etc. Eugenics no more nor less than any other - that is my point.
Consider (for example) the ways in which Psychology & Psychiatry are, & always have been since Pinel & the French Revolution, easily exploited by ideolgues. Do we therefore 'ban' Psychiatry?
Only the medaeval inquisition & the 'politically correct' marxist deconstructionists attempt to ban Science & its branches on ideological grounds.
It was Nietzsche's moral concerns about uplifting, 'overcoming' (transcendence) that causes him to be deliberately misrepresented & vilified by the deconstructionist marxist PC brigade who dominate & demoralise western culture today.
@RockingMrE Nietzsche is often & easily misinterpreted misunderstood & misrepresented because of his notorious use of metaphor, allegory, hypobole & other devices. There is an unfortunate tendency to judge him with the hindsight & attitudes of our own times - which is always an error.
He opposed racial nationalism (over which he fell out with Wagner) was not concerned about race as such - nor with eugenics - but of man's need to uplift himself as a whole by transcending his own (moral) weakness
