NO TO MEDICAL MONOPOLY IN TEXAS - SAY NO TO SENATE BILL 1314

There appears to be a concerted effort by the allopathic system in Texas to do away with Chiropractic, by tearing away at the scope of practice, limiting it bit by bit, such that Chiropractic will die a death of a thousand cuts. They took away our right to call ourselves "Physicians". They took away our right to write
prescriptions for handicapped parking placards. The Texas Medical Association has sued the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners, claiming in their lawsuit, that Doctors of Chiropractic do not have the right to diagnose their OWN PATIENTS, do not have the right to perform manipulation under anesthesia, nor to perform needle EMG studies, and now, they have shoved through the Texas Senate, a bill entitled SB 1314, which has the stench of decaying flesh. It is an obvious turf war and power grab, again aimed at taking away even more scope of practice from Chiropractic, this time,
taking away the practice of acupuncture. The bill would allow a nurse practitioner to perform acupuncture, but not let a Doctor (of Chiropractic) do so. This is not only ludicrous, but offends the public sensibility. THEY ARE COUNTING ON THE TEXAS PUBLIC BEING SO APATHETIC, AS NOT TO RAISE A RUCKUS. You CAN make a difference. You CAN tell your representative in the Texas House to say NO to Senate Bill 1314. In this instance, saying NO is the RIGHT THING TO DO.

Urge your House of Representative to say ABSOLUTELY NO TO SENATE BILL 1314 IN WHATEVER FORM OR NUMBER IT ARRIVES AT THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. iN THE SAME SPIRIT AS OUR FOUNDING FATHERS OF TEXAS, THE TEXICANS WHO FOUGHT AT THE ALAMA SAID NO TO SANTA ANA, SAY NO TO THIS WRONGHEADED, INJURIOUS, FILTHY PIECE OF DRACONIAN LEGISLATION.

Stand up for yourself, so that when the time comes and you need pain relief and help from your Doctor of Chiropractic, they will be there, ready to help, and legally still able to do so.
