Ari and Dan testing for their blue belts in BJJ under Pedro Sauer Black Belt Keith Owen. My respect goes out to all BJJ practitioners as well as my 10th Planet nogi warriors. Thank you for the support and I will endeavor to do better in both. Music from our friends band: I'll Never Be the Same. http://www.myspace.com/iwnbts

  • ari how did you get 4 stripes on your blue belt so fast? u just got it a little more than a year ago?

  • @carlsongracieteam After I tested for by blue (I was a white for a year), Keith put two stripes on my blue after my test (previous experience). You get stripes after 100 classes of training. I average 5 training days a week. In the Pedro Sauer assoc, you get a stripe every 100 classes after blue belt (meaning, it takes 500 classes to go for purple and then 500 more for brown and then 500 more to test for black. White belt is 100 classes total in order to test for blue). Hope that helps.

  • they both need a lesson in jumping jacks haha

  • @xxtehfavnoobxx agreed...but after 2 hours, you get a wee bit tired!

  • What the hell? Is that choke out a common custom in BJJ belt test?

  • @Svittidiu it was a custom created by Professor Pedro Sauer. He used to do the hip toss as well as a 'welcome to your new belt' tradition.

  • shit.. long way to be blue

  • This proves that you have managed to get to a standard blue-belt level now...

I think you'll get to purple in a couple of years with hard work.

I'm very pleased your'e learning the basics properly since a lot of white-belts are watching your videos.

  • what is needed exactly to test for a new belt in jujitsu? are there forms like in taekwondo or karate?

  • What a nice sensei this man is and what a nice class. i love the invironment. so much friendliness and still a very hard class and test. and aggression was strong. i dont know where this dojo is but i strongly recommend this to anybody who wants to practise BJJ. its very hard to find a good teacher, a demanding class along with this freindliness and respect in this class.

  • Hey man, very tight techniques. Thanks for sharing.

  • @Javy765 blue belt is generally about 100 classes. you need to get 5 stripes to get a blue belt. each stripe is 20 classes, so after 5 stripes(100 classes) you can test for a blue belt.

  • @RGTGAME I am 13 years old, and I am a student in Kieth's class :) He is a really good instructor.

  • THIS SUCKS! I want to train with Kieth but I live in the UK :'(

  • why do you get choked at the end?

    And how long for?

  • @Svittidiu stupid questions like this are common on youtube?

  • @genjibob Agreed, Ari is a good teacher.

  • belt testing for bjj?
