Kayak trolling motor

How I put in a trolling motor in a Kayak and some footage of the rig in action. It's not the fastest motor kayak out there, but it takes out fishing out in the ocean. Watch for motor kayak building ideas. It's not a MOTO-YAK, and there is no 300 pound marlin towing me 11 miles, but it goes !!

I Have Sit on Top Kayak Crambler XT and i would like to put on Motor for Trolling ,but when i put motor on how i Register for that motor or not ,thank you...

Hi Richard. You should register the Kayak as a Motor boat at the DMV, not the motor but the kayak. I sold my kayak about a year ago, never registered it, and never had a problem (enforcement doesn't pay attention to a kayak travelling at 4 miles an hour)

same question like mrguyinpaints... i have a honda desol.. and i really wanna get into kayaking and fishing... but i wonder if the kayak would be safe on top of my roof and wont fall off...

Romys. I have a toyota celica. I just put a standard yakima rack on the car, and the kayak travels really well with no problems at all. I actually drove with the kayak attached from Dan Diego to cabo San Lucas and back and had no problems (2000 miles). I don't know about the DelSol, the roof seems to be quite small.

@RichardTong1 The Scrambler XT & XL are very poor hulls for mounting a trolling motor on. You should sell it and get a more stable hull if you want to get into the electric motor game kayaking.

In Texas if the motor is below 5hp then it does not need to be registered you have to have the titel though but you get that when you buy it but if you install a trolling motor onto a kayak you should not have to register it
