  • What is that material what you used on legs? Dubbing is something dry fly dubbing? Why you thouched many times to dubbed area when you are dubbing? I'am young 13y boy from finland, sorry about my bad english, i hope to you understand what i mean! If you can, change your text to finnish. I Thank. All the best Ilari.

  • Hi llari, (321finland321),

The legs are Pre Knotted Dyed Black Pheasant Tail Fibres, Dubbing is Dyed Black Seals Fur or Sub, when I'm touching the dubbing as you can see on the video I am keeping it tight by twisting the dubbing as I wind up the body...I hope you you understand...

    All the best Davie

  • new to fly fishing (nov 2010) im thoroughly addicted! caught an 8lb rainbow on black buzzer so wanting to tie some up, you are an excellent tyer by the way, do u do one with breathers and it looks like diawl bach maybe to create the head/thorax area ( iv read every book in my library and bought about ten)haha. is it a blakestones buzzer?

  • Hi troutmaster85,

Tying your own flies is a great way to help you enjoy and catch more fish as you have been doing.. The Blakestone buzzer is a great pattern with or without breathers, it is worth tying your buzzers with breathers as there's times this makes a difference....

    All the best Davie

  • how small can you make this one? (concerning the legs) 16 and bigger? and if you want it smaller you skip the legs?

  • Hi serbification,

You could tye this fly from 16s up like you said but to be honest I would only use the legs on the bigger sizes. Also you will find that you don't need anything other than the body of most colours you like to use and the CDC.

    All the best Davie
