  • I just like the show. Simple.

  • why is he smiling

  • That sly grin he had on his face after he said "you're welcome" was funny

  • Okay?

  • This film has put me off LD for good. I like WA films up to about the mid 1980s. I used to like Seinfeld but my encounters with Larry David and I have really tried with Curb, were that this was an abrasive kind of situation comedy, the awkward funny bits don't compensate for his nasty selfish friends, I know it's a send up, but it doesn't work at all for me. It's rather like the Parker/Stone interview, used to like South Park a lot but they put me off their creation.

  • Sorry, a guy in his 60s with a woman who looks about 15 is pretty paedophillic. Woody Allen said himself of the colour grading in 'Bullets Over Broadway' that he can't have too much green & yellow. Personally I think it's over-done and looks un-natural. LD is allowed to do 'whatever works' for him but he's very intolerant and hostile of anybody elses take on life. The film wasn't funny & was very misanthropic, oh and the camera was plainly audible in places, bad film-making.

  • @3replybiz

First off, the plot isn't pedophilic, the girl is of consenting age. Secondly, LD's supposed "freedom" that "no one else can have" is kind of the point... he's an old grumpy narcissist who finally wakes up and understands. As far as the colors... you're grasping for straws. It wasn't a great film, aesthetically, but it also wasn't as offensive as you seem to think it is. You're overreacting.

  • @philno88 I'm glad I didn't grow up into any of the characters in this film that's for sure, that is probably the one positive thing about watching it.

  • @3replybiz Lol, grow up.

  • Very very grim, chock full of outright hatred and intolerance, the potent nastiness then wrapped up in totally fake good feeling & shallow moralising. This film is not funny at all. I'm tired of the paedophile plot you see in a lot of WA films. LD is free to do whatever works for him in this film, but doesn't allow anybody the same freedom. You can hear the camera very loudly in several scenes and the yellow/green grading used in many WA films is like having a perceptual disorder.
