patient has extensive decay on root of tooth because tooth had shifted and food was getting impacted between teeth. Patient could have had wisdom tooth extracted earlier or worn a night guard to prevent tooth movement. The microscope allowed of dentist to remove decay and place fillings and then an impression for new crown was done. See kohlerdentistry.com for more information

  • the patient does not feel any pain. If they lose the tooth and do not replace it ,they will miuss it because a first molar is a primary chewing tooth

  • Teeth take a history of trauma and will eventually die and need a Root Canal or be extracted. The tooth can take a long time to die and in this case it still is vital. The patient was made aware of this possibility and was willing to do the Root Canal thru thenew Crown if necessary.

  • When the enamel is removed the next color can be yellow , gray or brown. Usually it is yellow.

  • it probably means impacted teeth. Usualy this means the teeth are not totally in the mouth and the oral surgeon needs to remove gum tissue and perhaps bone to remove them.

  • The fact is the tooth was saved and the patient was very happy.

  • Wow. I don't know. If it was me I'd probably say "Yank that thing out of there like you're starting a lawnmower, doc!" I mean really -- all you need is Laurence Olivier saying "Is it safe?" and the horror would be complete. And the bill.

  • That must have smelt really awesome.
