WASP Congressional Gold Medal - Alaska Airline cockpit tour 03-08-10.MP4

The pilot & co-pilot gave the WASP and their families a tour of the cockpit. I think Ma & Noah really enjoyed it. All the WASP were upgraded to 1st class and treated like royalty...and they also treated the rest of the families really top notch! The 1st Class flight attendant (from Sequim) announced who each of the WASP were and what they did...the planes they flew. The pilot also said, "we have some special women aboard today, all pilots, the first women aviators to fly military aircraft in WWII. They are going to Washington DC to receive the Congressional Gold Medal for their service to the country." (Everyone aboard gave a big round of applause as the pilot thanked them all for their service and said it was a privilege to fly them to DC. WOW, what a great start to the trip!

I just watched a video on the "Women Air Force Service Pilots." I heard male pilots would fake emergency landings to see the women. Great Video:)
