I don't recall seeing this one either. Mind you, I was 5 in 1978.

Always get a little sentimental when I watch this video. A great honour to crossing guards everywhere! For the record, I'm the kid at the 2:29 mark (filmed at north west corner of Sherbourne Street and Shuter Street - Toronto).

This video has created a new resolve in me to become a crossing guard after I've retired from this busy worklife many years from now. I remember my local crossing guard.. so fantastic.. the protector of children. So many of these good people were in the twilight of their lives when they worked their corners.. I've really enjoyed this video, which surprises me.. Thanks for sharing.

Easily the most charming of the live action Canada Vignettes, with a wonderful song by Murray McLaughlin.

Thanks so much for posting this, I was the same age as these kids and grew up in Toronto and went to davisville school and our crossing guards name was Gus! he was awesome. I remember on halloween when I was walking back to schoolfrom lunch and I was a mummy for halloween he fixed my costume as it was falling apart. Very cool, thanks again.
