Humph' with a rework of one of his old ones. To be honest I prefered the original but with a longer piano intro. I'm told Humph' hated this number from the word go.

  • He was also a very funny guy on radio 4 and not only invented the game "Mornington Crescent" but devised some cunning opening moves such as "Humph's Opening" where he went straight to Wardour Street after just three moves by using the market parking regulations. A genius.

  • He will be sadly missed. Part of my life has gone now. At least we still have his music.

Gabriel will be looking for a job now.

  • I would like very much to see some of his cartoons from the time he worked for The Daily Mail.

    May God Bless his soul

  • Flook (circa 1965)"Trog" was the pen name of Wally Fawkes of the jazz group Wally Fawkes and the Troglodytes, who drew the strip. Storylines were written by many different people, including the singer and writer George Melly, the comedian Barry Took, the musician Humphrey Lyttelton, and the film critic Barry Norman.

  • Please note. The date of the run this year is --

    Sunday 2nd September 2007.

Sorry for the error at the end.

  • Busy tarting my car up* in between the showers and the gales. Anyone else going?

    * For those who have trouble with English. "Tarting my car up". This is now called "Pimping my ride"

  • Interesting set of pixs to accompany the music, but you should have put titles to them. Where was this photographed and what are the makes of cars that were shown? The music by Humph is great, so makes the picture tour tolerable.

  • Does not date. BRILLIANT MUSIC.

Thank you Humph so very much.

  • glad I was part of it, had a Vauxhall Victor 101 Estate....

  • One of my favourite radio people, 'I like the tongue in cider.' Simply brilliant.

  • Western Telegraph Pembrokeshire Run. The Start - Milford Haven.

At least that what it says on the opening titles. Milford Haven by the way is in Wales.

Next run is on Sunday the 3rd of September 2008. Starts just after 9am and finishes at 4 pm at Tenby. 600 plus cars expected.

  • That Morris Minor van at 4:49 ought to be painted up to read "Humphrey Lyttleton - Purveyor of Blue Chip Filth to the Nation"... that was an ambition of his, to find such a van and paint it thus.

  • A classy jazz man was Humph and cool before cool was invented. Good to hear his horn wailing again. RIP.

  • Ta M, as usual class stuff.....

  • thanks - good to hear Humph reworking what he used to introduce as "a medley of the band's hit." Much missed.
