  • Politicians use any excuse they can find to increase taxes, it gives them more resources to control which then can then use to help out the special interests that paid their campaign contributions and bribes.

Any tax increase is arbritrary, violent and destructive.

If you want people to stay productive you don't tax their productive activities. Any tax decreases the incentive of people to produce and consume and so they contribute less to the economy.

  • We need more, and more freely available information. A tax on junk food is just one more tactic of big brother to suck us dry in the Facist States of America. The gov't (notice I did not say our gov't or my gov't) is already out of control!

  • Mc Donald's is not cheap at all. Saving money cannot be the reason for people to eat a burger every day. One small size french fries is the same price as two pounds of organic bananas. Junk food is taste engineered.

  • @RonPaulIsiah

Just think of it this way: junk food tax would help to pay for medical expenses that junk food helped to create. A lot of money could be saved either way if junk food didn't exist...

  • Has anyone seen the video on the 5 year old Mc donalds hamberger & fries? The food is so full of preservitives, it does not age or break down or even mold! It can not be good for the body, we want fresh live foods that will break down in our bodies!

  • Such a tax will not stop people from buying those products, but it is a great way for the government to make money. A soda tax was just proposed in Pittsburgh, and I am in full support of it because the city is bankrupt and needs the revenue (fix some potholes please!!). 2 cents per ounce is enough for people to complain about but not to get them to drink water.

  • look up codex alimentarious here on youtube or google it.

  • great points.

  • I work at a grocery and I saw he prices on veggies and fruit and the pricing on bread compared to what we baught them for AND WOW, fruits and veggies are like 5-10 times their original price that they where purchased FROM THE FARMERS and the bread wasnt even double the original price!!!

  • one man has the right to eat what ever they choose. one man does not have to live under tyranny with tax up their asses. we dont need more taxes.

  • i dont know anyone who eats at mcdonalds every day. i also find poverty no excuse for bad food choices. my convience food is a bowl brown rice with spices butter and vegetables. That said, I like fast food as much as anyone else.
