So I've been at college since the 26th of August.

What can I say about it?

So far it's been an absolutely amazing time. So incredible and BUSY that I had no time to mourn my parting from my horse. I miss him terribly, yes, but I know he is being taken care of by people I trust and being handled and loved on for me.

This video isn't a sad one, to me at least. It's the beginning of a new chapter.

I am 3+ hours away from him and without a car. I'm in an entirely new situation, having new experiences, meeting new people, becoming "myself" more and more.
However, he will always be 'in my veins'. Distance could never make him any less, corny as it is, a part of me.

And some good news, I will be going home for a weekend two weeks from friday so in like 18 days or something I will be playing with Hershey :)

It was such a hard day. He absolutely was perfect. I just hopped on him in the paddock and cried into his mane for so long. I walked around on him a bunch then I took him into the round pen, lunged a little, and hopped on. He was amazing. Like he was guilt tripping me into not leaving (it almost worked, absolutely). He listened to me at w/t/c with nothing on. Man, I hated myself for leaving him at that point. So much.

I've become acclimated to living without the safety blanket of my horse, though. I don't plan on living without him forever, nor do I think I would be able to do so, but it is reassuring that I can survive without constantly using the barn to stabilize myself.

It's hard to know he wont' be as fine tuned to me the next time I see him. But I'm not as worried about him because all the updates I've been getting have been totally positive.

Shit, I love him so much. He's such a good boy :)

I also fucking love college. To any of you who are aprehensive about starting something new, whenever it may be (next year, 3 years, 5 years, etc), it is absolutely worth all the daunting imagery you might have of something so new. College is said to be the best 4 years of your life and though I can't attest to that yet, I can absolutely see how that would be true.

I actually liked making it. I have known I wanted to make a video to this song since Tess (kickassponies) and I went to Andrew Belle (with Trent dabbs') concert in June. This just seemed so fitting for my semi-goodbye with Hersh. It took me until now to feel like editing but I've had a lot to think about over the last few days and I finally felt like opening final cut and putting some effort in.

This is amazing, I'm sure Hersh will miss you. I can really relate to this, because my high school is 2 hours away from home, so when the school starts, I won't get to see Dora this often, and it breaks my heart that I'll see her only on weekends, not even every weekend. Have fun at collage :)
