  • Tinny, I didn't see any air supply holes at the bottom of the one you said might be a "Kelly kettle", but I know you must have put some in. I don't see how the "Kelly" could loose more heat than a regular pot because air disperses the hot gasses away from the sides of a regular pot. The "Kelly" keeps the gases in contact with the sides all the way up, more heat has to be transfered to the pot. Therefore, I'm guessing the vent holes weren't optimal. How many, how big and where were they?
