  • lol... did you just watch my two previous videos where the C guy told the A guy to read Boettner's "The Reformed Doctrine of Predestination"?

  • Blogrich55, if you consider Arminius a semi-semi Pelagian, you might as well consider Baxter a semi-semi-semi Pelagian, and perhaps infralapsarians as semi-semi-semi-semi Pelagians.

Many Arminians would consider themselves semi-Augustinian instead.

As for me, I would consider Arminius Arminian and leave it at that.

You don't like to think very precisely do you? Do you just make this stuff up as you go along and toss it out like that?

  • lol... the term "semi-Augustinian" is not new. I've heard of this term for quite some time.

  • lol... the "not spam" button is not working... the YouTube engineers are working on it

  • hahaha! "By definition, Arminianism is everything Calvinism is not... it's common sense" Love it! b/c seriously, let's just use our free will to believe in Jesus and not have to chose an "ism"!

  • This is great! I would explore the other side of the stereotype debate in which all calvinist are compared to hyper-calvinist.

  • Free Will destroys Total Depravity = But as many as have received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. (John 1:12) ~ To have received Him means to associate with Him as His companion or attendant, to give Him access to yourself, not to refuse or reject Him, to choose Him. The word right in the NKJV I use, is power in the KJV. It also means power of choice, liberty of doing as one pleases, permission. That's our free will.

  • This is too funny, because they are both wrong.

  • This would be interesting if the music were in the background instead of the foreground.

  • Calvinism is the devil AND arminianism is the devil! A true Christian can't lose their salvation but the five points of blasphemy come staight from hell!

  • @americanpolitic1 I think what Calvinists get wrong is equating "being fallen" with being "totally depraved." If you are fallen you are depraved, however being fallen is an on/off 1/0 thing. By contrast being "total depravity" indicates a scale of depravity. It's the difference of "if" and "how much" -you don't have to be totally depraved to be "totally" fallen.

  • @TheRdmin I'm certain that if you take the time to read Arminius you will see that isn't the "first point" of Arminianism.

Arminians believe in Total Depravity. Arminianism teaches that man's will is naturally completely enslaved, without the aids of the Holy Spirit, is utterly helpless to do any good including believe. When talking about free will, perhaps "freed will" would be more accurate.

  • So, I found this to be a strange video simply because the first point of Arminianism is Free Will or Human ability stating that though the human will is greatly changed by the fall it is not completely ruined by the fall. It's corruption is not total.

  • @RJFerreiro

Jacob in an acceptable Anglicized name, as is James.
