@12Ominous Yes, but when you say "proof of Jesus" do you mean proof of a historical figure, or proof of God becoming flesh, getting everything right, performing magic, etc.? We may have more "proof" of Jesus than Socrates, but with Socrates the question of his very existence does not matter. He didn't claim to be god (although neither did Jesus).

As someone with a science background, I understand Dembski. Guess who has no chance of understanding what he says? High School Students. The dumbass is hamstringing his own arguments by talking over his audiences' level of comprehension.

...so Dembski's argument against the FIRST life being incredibly simple is to point to the complexity of the MODERN eukaryotic cell? I am utterly speechless.

Any biologist will tell you that the organelles of a eukaryotic cell are the result of simpler organisms having imbibed smaller cells in the ancient past and then divided with them.

The first cell was essentially just a phospholipid membrane with some free-floating organic chemicals inside it.

I get the impression of desperation in Dembski's words.... I get the feeling that he doesn't really believe his own words, but is sadly in a position of not knowing what else to do... the education system has deserted him: without hanging on to this Discovery Institution garbage.... he'd have nothing to do.
