In this video we visit a popular Florida railfanning destination, Plant City. Plant City is located 60 miles Southwest of Orlando & 25 miles East of Tampa and can be easily accessed via interstate 4. Downtown Plant City serves as a "base" for all of your train watching. Here the former Atlantic Coast Line and Seaboard Air Line crossed via a diamond in the heart of downtown. Today the diamond still exists; however both lines now belong to CSX. The former Plant City station now serves as a welcome center and rail museum (Station hours vary). Public Parking and viewing areas can be found around the station area. In this video we will not only visit Plant City, but chase trains in surrounding areas such as Lakeland & Valrico. You'll see a variety of trains such as Amtrak, Spray Train, & The Tropicana Juice Train. Enjoy!

"Railfanning Florida" is a series that visits various railfanning locations throughout the state. Videos are generally based on a particular area and its surroundings filmed over a one day period.

  • Nice! Those SD70MAC's look really nice in the YN2 paint. Wish they'd keep them like that...

  • Great video. Very professional. Definitely subscribing! :)

  • awsome video ! what camera do you use?

  • Excellent video, Thomas! That local with 5 engines is a pretty unusual catch and I like that Shave and a Haircut coming from the SD70MAC.

  • Interesting video, i had never seen a spray train before.

I also thought that power move with the caboose on the end was rather stylish.

Though from the opening credits i thought perhaps we'd see some florida central.

  • Cool video
