Sape is indigenous to the Orang Ulu people and not the Ibans. Although the common misconception that Dayaks are all the same, there are significant differences. Orang ulu alone is also not a tribe but a group of tribe that share some similarities being living further and upper stream as the main thing they share in common. This is a fact even the malaysian government seem to always ignore.
