@guelUBtrupN My very first Irish dance teacher went to school with Michael Flatley, and I have my T.C.R.G. as well - not that that makes my info. correct, but I have danced for 23 yrs. The "no movement w/arms" rule was imposed by the British: The Irish were only allowed to dance 'on top o' the barrel' (in the pubs), and thus any flailing about was against the law. However, I'm psychologist, not a historian, so you may very well be right! Both make sense.
Brilliant dancing, just lovely.:)

Lol yeah sorry about that, it wasn't intentional. we thought the a capella footwork echoes at the beginning sounded like thunder. glad you enjoyed it though! :)
