An introduction to the "rouge state" that looks at not only the government, but also the people. In light of Dennis Kucinich's recent visit to Syria (see my recent vids for an interview he did there), it's helpful for the American people to have a look inside the country before they decide whether or not Syria is our enemy.

Kudos to the always excellent CurrentTV for the video. See more great videos at their site: http://www.current.tv/

  • no more ty detmer shirts please!

  • HAHAHA we all support Hezbollah, Even us Syrian Christians love them. funny video i liked it.

  • same shit different bush :)

  • i love watching videos about my country and every time i watch i get more attached to it.

  • Are you fucking insane?

  • 86 huh? you're barely stupid let alone know anything about the world outside your house.

  • WTF?! blogs are totally banned in Syria, just like Youtube, Facebook, etc. In fact, those people wouldn't have dared to say a word to that foreign journalist if they were not secret police agents themselves or have a green light from the secret police. This clip is just so irritating and stupid and it seems to be talking about Mars not Syria. Freedom in Syria my ass you filthy liars! Young people are being thrown in jails for writing on blogs.

  • ,who dares in syria to say that he deos not support hezbollah? especially infront of a camera,i mean who wants to go to gail ?

Mariana interviewed people in theislamic shiaa neighborhood who are the smallest minority in syria and who would of course show support to hezbollah .

Same people who had been interviewed by her and supported hezbollah would say the opposite to me if i gain their confidence and talk in a place where nobody can hear us.

  • if you tube is banned then why i am here answering you stupid words?

  • haha i love the guy who spoke to the camera.

syria has become quite westernized. and it was rumored that there was no more facebook and such, but im pretty sure that isn't true.

they are normal people! some guys are creepers, what with the flirting with almost every walking and breathing female being, but otherwise normal!

I am Syrian, but the only reason I say 'they' is because i was born and raised in the states, so I can't speak much for the natives.
