In this beginner's web design tutorial we apply a background color and image to a webpage using CSS and Dreamweaver. This technique works in all versions of Dreamweaver including 8, CS3, CS4, and CS5.

  • I have troubles with the background picture :(. I do exactly the same as you but at the end i get the image center in the center ,therefore it doesnt cover the whole page. Could this problem be because i dont have any text or layout on the page ? :(

  • @sahoooo I'm not really sure but my wild guess is that the image isn't large enough. Try a bigger picture and see what happens.

  • @storyindustrial do you have a exact size you might think work the best

    

  • @theonlygredd318 most websites are anywhere from 800 to 1000 pixels wide. I would try maybe 1200 pixels wide by maybe 1000 high and see what that looks like.
