  • @JDtheDrunk I'm not really sure. Were the Beverly Brothers a "prissy/queer" tag team? I do and I don't remember them from back in the day. It was stated in the aforementioned book that it was basically Pat Patterson's idea to make their characters "prissy/queer." And as great as Pat Patterson was, some if not all of us WWE(WWF) fans know that he's gay.

  • @TheCfh4life What do you mean supposed to be :)

  • @Pacmanknapp24 I think the Team Challenge Series was a good idea in theory (different types of matches, rivals forsed to work together on the same team) and it might've worked when the AWA still had some good guys like they did in the Showboat & Tropicana casino tapings, but in practice, it was the cluster fuck that everyone remembers. Being from Minnesota I have some very fond memories of the AWA.

  • Another thing that could of lasted in the AWA ok which is another historical flaw is having the south vs the north as of tag teams Fabulous Free Birds, VS LOD which all most happened but Verne thought two heels fighting one another wouldn't fly seeing how much Minnesota, and other states hated the free birds it would of been Brilliant

  • thanks Jason77 that was a big Rumor mill going on the last days of the AWA but whats amazing Slaughter, Destruction crew, and a bunch of others kept it up until it lasted even doing shows with out getting paid thinking it would save the company

Verne Gagne was more worried about his Lake home in Minnesota on Lake Minnetonka which is rumored he owned a massive amount of land, and not only Indians, but Minnesota wanted to make it a historical national wild life area to the public

  • @Pacmanknapp24 Bischoff dodn't create the Team Challenge Series. Greg Gagne admitted that it was his idea on the AWA DVD that WWE put out a few years ago.
